Opportunities

We have many opportunities for you to get involved and serve at First Baptist Church. Most ministries require church membership.

Outreach Opportunities

• We encourage all of our members to be praying for and witnessing to family, friends, and neighbors. Tracts are available at the church for you to use.
• We encourage all of our members to invite others to our services and outreach events. Who do you know that you could invite to come with you?
• The Lorain County Fair Ministry is an annual event where we share the gospel at our fair. Thousands of gospel bracelets, tracts, and other literature items are distributed each year.
• Vacation Bible School provides a great opportunity of reaching children and their families. Workers are needed every year.

Teaching Opportunities

There are numerous opportunities for our members to get involved in teaching children, teens, and adults, including Sunday School, Children's Church, IGNITE!, and Vacation Bible School. Workers and helpers are needed in most of these ministries as well. All teachers must be members of the church and must be in agreement with our Statement of Faith. All children's teachers and workers go through a screening process prior to serving.

Music Ministry Opportunities

• Like to sing? Our adult choir ministers on Sunday mornings from September through June. We also schedule special music for our Sunday morning and evening services.
• Play the piano? We have a Yamaha grand piano and a Clavinova keyboard that are used to accompany congregational singing for our services. Preludes and offertories provide another opportunity to use your talents for Christ.
• Play an instrument? You can use that ability to provide special music for one of our Sunday services.

Service Opportunities

There are many ways you can serve at First Baptist!

• Care for our little ones in the nursery or toddler departments
• Help work with children in Children's Church and IGNITE!
• Work with teens in our 24/7 Youth Ministry
• Serve as a greeter or usher
• Use your technical skills as a sound or video technician
• Further opportunities are available to serve on church boards and committees
